Can be used for the Pearson EDSQ course specifications: 1.2 - Finding Information 1.2.1 Navigate online content to locate required information. 1.2.2 Carry out searches to find information and content. Includes opportunities for students to demonstrate how to find information on the Internet, how to navigate websites/weblinks and how to verify information/image. Perfect for Entry Level 3 and Level 1 students, including SEN students. There is also an 11 slide PowerPoint presentation to go with it, that is a full teaching PowerPoint, with recap of previous lesson, learning outcomes, gauging prior knowledge, teaching slides, keywords, 2 extension tasks and a recap of learning.

A Scheme of Work Year Plan (year overview) for the ICT/Computing Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) for Entry Level 3 & Level 1. The year plan uses the Pearson curriculum specification (although can easily be adapted to suit other awarding bodies such as NOCN or OCN). Starting the academic year 2024-2025. Useful as a guide when creating your schemes of work or can be put at the front of students’ folders to chart progress. Ideal for SEN students, the course curriculum is spaced out through the year to allow plenty of time for completion and repeat assessments if needed. It covers all five units: Using Devices and Handling Information Creating and Editing Communicating Transacting Being Safe and Responsible Online.

This is a resource that I use with students that require Travel Training sessions. This is a road safety poster task, which can be used as a classroom based activity for when the weather is bad or the students don’t want to go out. It can be used in conjunction with the Travel Training SEN Road Safety Quiz.

This quick task booklet gives students the opportunity to demonstrate the usage of system settings, including: Brightness, Volume, Time and connecting to the WiFi. Also checks learning for self-assessment and independence. Perfect for both Entry Level 3 and Level 1 students, including SEN students. There is also an 12 slide PowerPoint presentation to go with it, as well as 2 longer task booklets (Entry Level 3 & Level 1).

A 5 page task booklet, which can be used as an extension task or for substitute teaching for students studying IT and learning about Computer Operating Systems. Students are asked to name 5 different operating systems and provide evidence of User Interfaces. Perfect for SEN Entry Level 1 and above.

I use this resource for students completing the NOCN (National Open College Network) L1 Safe Independent Travel course. Tutors can use the 3 evidence assessment sheets to state what evidence is provided in the students portfolios, when students have completed paperwork for their NOCN Safe Independent Travel Level 1 course. This resource is a scenario where students can plan a trip to their local Vue cinema. You just need to add the appropriate info (street names etc.) for your local area! It gives advice to students of things they need to consider when planning their journey. It also encourages budgeting skills.

This is a resource I use with students completing a Functional Skills - English/Literacy course. It is a Speaking and Listening task, where students have to roleplay or practice making a phone call. The resource states strategies for making a successful phone call. This resource could be used for SEN students, to support them with the Speaking and listening course criteria.

Where students get to choose which employment goal they would like and then state how they can work towards this, either in lessons or in tutorial.

This resource can be used for students that require Rarpa (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement); it is linked to the PfA (Preparing for Adulthood) goals/target - Friends, Relationship & Community Skills. Where students get to review the progress with their PfA friends, relationships & community goal and tutors can provide written feedback.

This is a 3 page resource where students can self assess their work after completing an art project. It asks students state the art movement, which formal art elements have been used, what went well, what would improve the work, the inspiration behind the art work and to add photographic evidence of the work. There is also an opportunity for tutors to provide feedback and what next steps are needed.

This is a 1 page resource where students can peer assess each others work. They can state, what the artist did well, what they would like to see more of and what the art work shows. It can be used for the criteria : Comment constructively on someone else’s work.
